Buddy Hield sank a big 3-pointer against Kansas from way downtown.
Buddy Hield is one of the best players in the country, and if not for Ben Simmons, he may have run away with the Naismith this year. The Kansas Jayhawks are well aware of this fact when he dropped 46 points at Allen Fieldhouse in the game of the year. Even if he doesn’t repeat that performance, he’s determined to help his team win the rematch by sinking 3-pointers from any distance on the field:
That was deep, even well behind the NBA 3-point line. Chef Curry would’ve been proud of him indeed.
Obviously this isn’t the only time Hield has been sinking deep 3-pointers. He did the same thing last game against Texas to win it in the final seconds. And he did everything he could for his team to beat Kansas last time, but one does not simply win at Allen Fieldhouse.
After their first contest ended in triple overtime, it was hard for this game to live up to their last one, but so far it has. Of all the teams in the Big 12, Oklahoma is definitely the most well-equipped to end Kansas’ ridiculous streak of 11 conference championships in a row, due in large part to Buddy. However, unlike last year, there really isn’t a clear favorite for the NCAA tournament making this one of the best college basketball seasons in years.
