The New York Knicks had a trade for Kyle Lowry, then owner James Dolan got involved.

If James Dolan is not the worst owner in professional sports, it is only because Daniel Snyder continues to breathe. Dolan has been the main reason why his New York Knicks are a combination between embarrassing and awful over the last 15 years, and now there is another reason for the Big Apple to loathe him.

Speaking to USA Today Sports, Toronto Raptors All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry said that a trade sending him to the Knicks back in 2013 was finished, until Dolan got cold feet.  “That deal was done,” Lowry said.

New York was sending a first-round pick, guard Iman Shumpert and something called Metta World Peace to Toronto, but Dolan had to get involved. Just like when he got involved in the Carmelo Anthony deal, something that watched New York give us Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler, along with Timofey Mozgov. Anthony was set to be a free agent the following summer and almost certainly would have signed with New York, but Dolan could not wait.

Had the Lowry deal gone down, the Knicks would have both he and Anthony, perhaps along with Kristaps Porzingis. Currently, no team has a worse point guard situation than New York, which could basically be putting out rotting corpses and not notice a difference. The Knicks have gone from Obese Raymond Felton, to Deceased Jose Calderon and now to Sorta Awake Arron Afflalo.

Good times.
