A look at the top 10 offensive tackle prospects in the 2016 NFL Draft

Though there is almost always going to be a premium placed on defensive players and skill position players when it comes to the NFL Draft, teams can’t neglect the guys doing to the dirty work on the offensive line. Though there may not have been much anyone could have done in the moment, fans got a glimpse of how important the offensive line is in the Super Bowl when the likes of Michael Oher and Mike Remmers got thrashed and ultimately hurt the Carolina Panthers’ chances at winning.

Perhaps the more important thing of note in regards to Super Bowl 50 is the fact that it was Carolina’s tackles that really came back to bite them. We’ve seen in many years past that a tackle prospect that seems like a can’t-miss prospect in the NFL Draft can easily find the his way into the top-five picks—if not climbing even higher.

That’s undoubtedly going to be the case in the 2016 NFL Draft thanks to one standout prospect (we’ll get there). However, this also happens to be a relatively deep class of offensive tackle in that, while there may not be a number of stars at the position, there are multiple players that should be able to contribute to an NFL offensive line almost immediately.

Keeping that in mind, here’s a look at the 10 best offensive tackles in the 2016 NFL Draft.
