Jim Harbaugh and Michigan picked up a big commit for 2017 in four-star quarterback Dylan McCaffrey

Christian McCaffrey set the college football world on fire last season for the Stanford Cardinal as he was a Heisman Trophy finalist. He’ll look to do the same again in 2016, but it seems like his younger brother Dylan McCaffrey will take the torch from there in 2017. However, the four-star quarterback prospect will be doing so for the Michigan Wolverines, coincidentally under the direction of a former Stanford coach in Jim Harbaugh.

On Monday night, McCaffrey announced that he had committed to play football at Michigan starting in 2017, already a big get for Wolverines football:

Scout.com has the 6-4.5, 195-pound McCaffrey ranked as the No. 39 overall prospect in the 2017 recruiting class and the No. 3 quarterback in the class. Despite his talent, you also can’t deny his genetic pedigree considering his brother’s accomplishments already in college football and what their father, Ed McCaffrey, did during his time on the gridiron.

More importantly, though, this is already showing the value of Harbaugh as a recruiter for Michigan. He came into the program for the 2015 season and sort of had to just make it work with transfer Jake Rudock at quarterback. However, he’s now recruiting some of the best recruits in the country at the position and bringing them to Ann Arbor.

Moreover, if Dylan McCaffrey has half of the impact on college football that his older brother has for Stanford, Michigan football is only going to continue to get more and more dangerous under Harbaugh’s guidance.
