Kanye West went on his second Twitter rant in a day, this time slamming Pitchfork for a positive album review.
Pitchfork Media posted their review of “The Life of Pablo” today, and it was overall very good. For a site that slams popular albums a lot, they said a lot of good things about Kanye West’s newest album, even if it might not have been as good as his last few efforts. However, that’s not how Kanye read it. In his latest Twitter rant, he attacked Pitchfork and other “white publications” that review music because a nine out of 10 isn’t good enough for him. He needs rankings that don’t even exist:
It’s questionable how much love the album was made with when it contains lyrics like “Now if I f–k this model and she just bleached her a—ole/And I get bleach on my T-shirt Imma feel like an a—ole”
He took a break in the middle of his rant to lash out at people who actually criticized LeBron James’s performance in an All-Star Game:
And for anybody who was hoping to buy the album on iTunes, he doesn’t plan on making that happen anytime soon. Whether or not that was because Pitchfork gave his album a good review remains to be seen:
This is either another brilliant marketing scheme by him and Tidal or Kanye has clearly lost his mind. It’s a shame because he could’ve gotten out of his $53 million in debt in album sales alone. For the self-proclaimed greatest artist of all-time, a full point off of perfection is unacceptable. I wonder if he’s going to change his album’s title again.
