2016 NFL offseason: Houston Texans needs

While quarterback may be the glaring need for the Houston Texans there are other spots on the roster to address during the offseason


The Houston Texans head into the 2016 NFL offseason after two straight seasons with a record of 9-7. After narrowly missing the playoffs in head coach Bill O’Brien’s rookie season, the Texans then broke through and won the AFC South the following year which earned them a playoff berth.

The 30-0 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in that postseason showed that while they have been winning, there is still a lot of work left to be done in order to take that next step and become a legitimate threat in the playoffs.

The obvious answer to most when discussing that next step for Houston is to look at the quarterback position. In each of the past two seasons the Texans have been forced to shuffle their starting signal caller at an alarming rate, which included four different starters in both of those seasons.

While that is the easy spot to look, it’s not the only area the Houston Texans must address this offseason. With that in mind we begin to examine what the Texans will be facing this offseason, starting with a look at what players could be heading out the door as well as looking at existing holes on the roster.
