A look at the biggest needs for the San Diego Chargers in free agency and the draft for the 2016 NFL offseason

To say that the San Diego Chargers were anything more than disappointing or a disaster in the 2015 NFL season would be largely doing how bad things were a disservice looking back. Because of injuries that absolutely wrecked their roster essentially from top-to-bottom in addition to simply having holes on their roster as a whole coming into the year, San Diego had an abomination of a year that saw them finish at just 4-12.

However, not all is lost with the 4-12 record as they will be getting plenty of players back healthy to help out Philip Rivers—who is probably thanking everything holy that Keenan Allen will be back soon—and will also have the No. 3 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft to work with and further add talent to help the franchise move forward.

Additionally, the Chargers also have a ton of room and decisions to make in regards to free agency. With the deals that they have coming off of the books, San Diego has   massive amount of cap room even before making any cuts or restructurings and will have to figure out how they are going to use it to address their needs.

Coming into the 2016 NFL offseason for the Chargers, their unquestioned biggest needs are their offensive and defensive lines, the secondary, and adding weapons on the outside for Rivers outside of a healthy Allen. Here’s an outlook of what they should be looking for in the 2016 offseason.
