The 2016 NFL Hall of Fame Game will feature the Colts vs Packers on Sunday, Aug. 7
Super Bowl 50 and the 2015 NFL season has come and gone and now it’s all about teams gearing up for the 2016 season. Dominoes have still yet to fall in any major way in regards to free agency and obviously the draft, but it’s never too early to start looking ahead to next season. Apparently the NFL is fully aware of this as they’ve now announced the teams who will be competing in the 2016 Hall of Fame Game.
On Tuesday afternoon, the league announced that it will be the Indianapolis Colts taking on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Aug. 7 in the 2016 NFL Hall of Fame Game:
The obvious appeal of the matchup between the Colts and Packers is the battle of two of the league’s elite quarterbacks in Andrew Luck for Indianapolis and Aaron Rodgers for Green Bay. Luck obviously missed over half of the 2015 season in what was a highly disappointing year for the Colts. The Packers made it to the postseason, but were eliminated by the Arizona Cardinals.
However, both teams figure to be heavily in the mix for the playoffs in the 2016 NFL season and the Hall of Fame Game will give fans a preview of what could be a potential Super Bowl matchup if things go as planned for both teams.
Now fans know the matchup that will kick off the preseason and only have to wait just under six months for NFL action to return.
