According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Orlando Magic will waive guard Lance Stephenson if they acquire him.
On Tuesday night, Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Clippers were nearing a deal that would send Channing Frye to Los Angeles and Lance Stephenson and filler to the Magic.
While the Clippers would be adding a piece to their roster for their playoff run, the Magic would be getting cap space, as Stephenson’s contract is not guaranteed for next season. While the Clippers are waiting to finalize the trade until Wednesday, the Magic will waste no time getting rid of Stephenson if they acquire him.
According to Wojnarowski, the Magic will waive Stephenson right away if they acquire him.
Sources: If Frye deal to Clippers goes through on Wednesday, Stephenson would never play a game for Orlando. Magic will waive him.

The Clippers are still gauging other possible deals for Stephenson around the league before they pull the trigger on such a deal with the Magic. However, Wojnarowski further stated that belief around the league is that the deal between the two sides will get done on Wednesday.
Sources: Clippers are working on a bigger deal using Stephenson's contract, but that is a longshot. Most likely scenario still Orlando deal.

It will be interesting to see who picks up Stephenson if he does indeed get re-routed through Orlando. After one stellar season with the Indiana Pacers, Stephenson has been anything but and has seen his value tremendously diminish around the league.
The Magic are certainly not going to waste any time on this deal.
