The Chicago Bulls have offered Taj Gibson to the Raptors in a proposed trade.

The NBA trade deadline is almost here, and already there are rumors swirling about who will be moved where. We’re to the point though where rumors are turning into offers — which is the case with Chicago Bulls forward Taj Gibson.

According to Zach Lowe of ESPN.com, the Bulls have offered Taj Gibson to the Raptors in exchange for Patrick Patterson.

There’s a couple of things to take away from this proposal, not the least of which seems to be Toronto’s lukewarm feelings about it. But Chicago offering up Gibson is extremely notable 48 hours away from the trade deadline, as it signals that he’s still very much available.

A month ago, Gibson was on the block thanks to the logjam the Bulls had in their frontcourt. Since then, injuries have unjammed things and it appeared that Gibson was being pulled off the block a little. This trade proposal — which would send one of the Bulls best defenders to a fellow Eastern Conference contender — is something to take seriously.

Toronto may not be interested in this deal, but if this means that Taj is back on the market then someone might spring a deal for him.
