The Utah Jazz are shopping Trey Burke in the trade market.

When the Utah Jazz selected Trey Burke in the NBA Draft a few years ago, some wondered if he would ever develop into the superstar leader the Jazz need at the point. Three years later and we’re still wondering that — and Utah seems ready to let it be someone else’s problem.

According to Tony Jones of The Salt Lake Tribune, the Jazz have been shopping Trey Burke.

"The Utah Jazz have had multiple discussions with teams about a trade involving guard Trey Burke ahead of Thursday’s NBA trade deadline, The Salt Lake Tribune has learned from league sources."

This isn’t a new idea, as there were trade rumors involving Burke dating back to June of last year — so the notion that the Jazz would be alright moving him isn’t earth shattering. Utah is without international man of mystery Dante Exum, who tore his ACL over the summer and is sitting out his sophomore season.

Burke is still young enough that a team might be able to build around him, if he develops into the star Utah thought he might be when they drafted him out of Michigan. So far, that hasn’t happened and the logjam in the backcourt seems to have the Jazz favoring Exum over Burke despite the injury that is keeping one of them out right now.
