NBA Trade Rumors: Jason Kidd “enamored” with Ricky Rubio
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Bucks head coach Jason Kidd is “enamored” with Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio.
As the NBA Trade Deadline nears, there has been chatter about Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio. As the Timberwolves seek to continue to build around their young core of Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns and Zach LaVine, Rubio’s name has been brought up in trade discussions.
While it seems like after the season is a more likely time for Rubio to be moved, there still exists the possibility that the Timberwolves could move Rubio if the right offer were to come along.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Milwaukee Bucks head coach Jason Kidd is reportedly “enamored” with Rubio. Kidd liking Rubio makes all the sense in the world. There’s been discussions of Michael Carter-Williams being on the move and while the Bucks have told Carter-Williams that they aren’t going to move him, things can change.
Rubio is a similar point guard to Kidd in the sense that Rubio is a pass-first point guard much like Kidd was. Ever since Kidd has taken over in Milwaukee, he’s been looking for that point guard to go with his roster of young talent and they haven’t found their guy quite yet it seems.
The Bucks have the young talent and pieces that it would take to acquire Rubio and it would be interesting to see what the Timberwolves’ demands would be in return for their point guard. If there’s a team that could match up on a deal for Rubio with the Timberwolves, it’s the Bucks.
It’s going to take quite the offer to get him right now and the Bucks might be better off waiting until the summer to try and make a deal to land Rubio.
