According to a report, the Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Clippers are interested in Brooklyn Nets forward Thaddeus Young.

The NBA Trade Deadline is just a couple of days away and things are starting to get serious in the NBA. As teams get ready to position themselves for playoff runs and the future, teams are checking in on just about anyone. One player that could be on the move is Brooklyn Nets forward Thaddeus Young.

With the Nets near the bottom of the NBA standings, it’s no surprise that the Nets are looking to move guys at the deadline on Thursday. The Nets don’t have their draft pick this year and don’t have many future assets going forward, so they’re trying to recoup what they can.

The best way to get something of value in return is to trade Young. For an abysmal season, Young has been having a nice season for the Nets and is almost averaging a double-double per game. According to Frank Isola, the Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Clippers are both interested in acquiring Young from the Nets.

Both teams would be instantly upgraded for the stretch run of the season with Young. The problem is that it would be tough for the Clippers to make it financially work with how strapped on money they are. They would have a hard time giving the assets necessary to land Young in Los Angeles.

The Raptors have the flexibility and assets to land Young. They have a plethora of draft picks and young players, along with salary to match in a deal. While the Nets would be trading within their division, this deal would make sense for them and allow them to begin their rebuild.
