According to a report, the Phoenix Suns aren’t satisfied with a first-round pick for Markieff Morris and want a player too.
The never-ending saga of Markieff Morris appears to be coming to an end with the NBA Trade Deadline on Thursday. The Phoenix Suns are expected by many to finally move their disgruntled forward and it’s not quite sure what trade leverage they have for a guy that has a felony assault case on his hands. Add in the fact that he’s also been a major headache for the team and the Suns are going to have a hard time getting the deal that they want for Morris.
On Monday night, Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Suns have high demands for Morris and want a first-round pick and a young player in return for Morris. While the talent of Morris warrants it, his behavior and ability to stay out of trouble has plummeted whatever value he has had.
While many think that it’s wishful thinking on the Suns part to get a first-round pick and a player for Morris, Sam Amick is reporting that the Suns are still determined to get what they want in return. Amick notes that the first-round picks are there for the Suns in a deal for Morris, but the appealing player is not.
Suns still determined to get a young player & a 1st in return for Markieff Morris. To this point, firsts are there but not appealing player.

What’s certainly interesting about this scenario is that teams are willing to still give the Suns a viable asset like a first-round pick in return for Morris. Yet, the Suns are reportedly sticking by their guns and holding out for even more in return for Morris.
It might be foolish if they miss on a palatable offer like a first-round pick, which is very valuable as an asset in today’s NBA. Still, if they’re able to get what they want in return for Morris, then it’s a job well done by the Suns and a deal that ends up working out for everyone.
