According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Brooklyn Nets have offered their general manager’s position to Sean Marks.

Ever since the Brooklyn Nets fired general manager Billy King, they have been looking for a general manager that could fix the mess that King left. With no future assets and draft picks to build around, the Nets have a long road to go as they try to rebuild the next great Nets team.

It looks like they have found the guy that they believe can fix their franchise. According to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nets have offered the general manager spot to San Antonio Spurs assistant general manager Sean Marks.

Marks is generally considered one of the smartest upcoming minds in basketball and tapping into the Spurs’ organization is never a bad idea. Before Marks became assistant general manager with the Spurs, he was an assistant coach under Gregg Popovich and played many years in the league as a journeyman big man.

It will be interesting to see if Marks takes the position with the work ahead of him, but he’s gotten plenty of experience in the Spurs’ organization since retiring and there’s not a better organization for him to learn from as a young executive.
