Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering another shoulder injury.

It has been a very rough season for Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. For a Charlotte Hornets team that is hanging onto a playoff spot for dear life and needs all hands on deck, they just lost a valuable piece for the rest of the year. The former second overall pick didn’t play a game until the end of January because he separated his right shoulder. Then, seven games later, he suffered another torn labrum and has gone under the knife – that is according to Adrian Wojnarowski, who just dropped another Woj Bomb:

His original comeback wasn’t supposed to happen as many expected him to miss the whole season this year. But he came back and scored 13 points while averaging 12.7 the rest of the way before this latest setback.

Kidd-Gilchrist’s story, of a man with a speech impediment who watched his father die at a young age, is one of the most feel-good stories of the NBA. So to see him go down twice like this is sad to see, not just for Hornets fans, but for everyone around the league.

We wish for a speedy recovery for Kidd-Gilchrist and that he gets back on the court sooner rather than later. Him playing can only be good for the league.
