Wade Barrett’s time with the company could be coming to an end sooner rather than later.
It seems as if for a while now, one of the wrestlers that most have viewed as really a huge disappointment has been Wade Barrett. At one point in time this man showed all the promise in the world, but a myriad of issues have always held him back from reaching the peak, really.
Well, his run with WWE might be coming to an end rather soon.
According to a report form Pro Wrestling Sheet, Barrett’s contract with the company is expiring this July and he has decided against renewing it and that means he will be on his way. Given all that’s happened during his stint, that time coming to an end really shouldn’t be all that much of a shock to anyone.
Back in 2010 Barrett entered WWE with all the hype in the world as the leader of the Nexus. With the way he could work on the mic and in the ring, it seemed a given that this man was destined for a place at the top of the card for years to come. However, the Nexus angle was killed by John Cena at SummerSlam of that year just a few months after they debuted, and everything really seemed downhill from there.
Barrett has had various roles in the mid-card, and this is where we learned that he had the ultimate problem — injuries. Seemingly everytime that you turned your head, the Englishman was out with some sort of injury, meaning that each time he was out a push for him became less of a priority.
There’s no telling what comes next for Barrett in the near future in regards to wrestling, but it appears that it won’t involve WWE, which actually might be best for both parties at this point.
