What drivers does Vegas see as the favorites for this week’s Daytona 500?
There’s no bigger race in NASCAR than the Daytona 500. It’s the first official race of the season and on Sunday, everyone will be racing to etch their names in the history books and for a spot in the chase to compete for a Sprint Cup Championship.
The Daytona 500 is one of the toughest races to wins and it takes a grand effort to pull off a win at the track. Last year, Joey Logano won his first Daytona 500 and it launched his career to the next level. According to VegasInsider.com, Logano is a 10/1 favorite to win again on Sunday.
The man with the best odds is former Daytona 500 winner Dale Earnhardt Jr. Earnhardt Jr. won the July race at Daytona and he also had a great run in qualifying on Sunday. He currently stands at 5/1 odds to win the Daytona 500 again on Sunday.
His Hendrick Motorsports teammate, Jimmie Johnson, is another strong contender to win on Sunday. His odds are currently 8/1 and he had a strong qualifying run. Kevin Harvick was one of the strongest drivers in 2015, which has his odds near the top as well. Harvick, like Johnson, currently has 8/1 odds for Sunday.
