Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist denied two shots on a two man breakaway

The New York Rangers always have a shot at winning any game on any given day thanks to their goaltender Henrik Lundqvist. King Henrik is one of the best goalies in the NHL and he consistently puts the Rangers in a great position to win. He often performs superhuman feats to ensure his team a chance at victory. That’s precisely what he had to do when the Blackhawks got a two man breakaway.

Not sure how Lundqvist stopped both shots by Blackhawks forwards Teuvo Teravainen and Brandon Mashinter. Both players got great shots off. Granted, Lundqvist did get a little bit lucky with the rebound off Teravainen’s initial shot. But when you’re as great as Henrik Lundqvist, you make your own luck.

Lundqvist has had one of his finest seasons in the NHL this season. His .924 save percentage so far in the 2015-2016 season ranks third in his career. Keep in mind that the Rangers defense has not given him much help this season. They have left Lundqvist out to dry on numerous occasions. Lundqvist has three shutouts on the season with 28 wins as he tries to lead the Rangers to their first Stanley Cup title since 1994.
