The Jazz made potential trade candidate Trey Burke unavailable to the media on Wednesday before the NBA Trade Deadline

The Utah Jazz have been part of several bits of chatter leading up to the 2016 NBA Trade Deadline with the assumption being that the team could look to bolster their heavily injured backcourt. To do so, one player that has been coming up in a plethora of trade rumors regarding the Jazz is young point guard and former lottery pick Trey Burke.

Only furthering speculation that Burke could be on the move before Thursday’s deadline in the fact that, as the Jazz returned to practice on Wednesday, Burke was unavailable to talk to the media and the team’s PR turned away anyone trying to talk to the point guard:

While that would seemingly indicate that the point guard is going to be moved out of Utah before the deadline on Thursday at 3 p.m. ET, Burke himself added a bit of confliction to that notion when he posted a pictured to Instagram of him on the team bus with a caption indicating that he was traveling with the Jazz to Washington D.C. for the team’s first game out of the All-Star break:

Given that the Jazz have reportedly been in discussions with the Houston Rockets on Wednesday regarding the much maligned Ty Lawson, that Burke was made unavailable to the media more than raises an eyebrow this close to the deadline. With the point guard traveling to D.C., though, this is certainly a case of everyone just having to wait and see what happens.
