Manchester United will be looking to rescue their own dignity as they travel to Denmark in the Europa League to take on Midtjylland. Here is where to watch.

FC Midtjylland is a fantastic story. They were on the brink of bankruptcy in 2014 after a brief, 15-year existence when they were purchased by Brentford’s owner, Matthew Benham. Benham is a professional gambler that uses advanced metrics a-la Moneyball to find success with his Danish club.
However, what is not in Midtjylland’s favor is the infamous winter break that has been plaguing Russian teams as well. The Danish league has not played since December and they will not resume until March, giving the Red Devils a leg up in the fitness department. That being said, the Danish side are third in the Danish Superliga and will look to kickstart their campaign with a token Cinderella run in the Europa League.

Manchester United and Louis Van Gaal were just never meant to be, as nothing is jiving between the two. Just when you think it has finally clicked, Sunderland bounces Van Gaal’s boys and it’s back to square one.
The Red Devils had their Champions League fate in their own hands when facing Wolfsburg, but they were unable to get the win they needed, as they dropped into the Europa League.
It would be an absolute catastrophe on top of a disappointment if United was unable to get past a lowly Danish squad in the Europa League. That being said, stranger things have happened. After all, this is Manchester United and this certainly is not their year.
