The New York Knicks need a point guard, and Ricky Rubio might be available.
The NBA trade deadline is on Thursday, and the Knicks are likely trying to improve for the 2016-17 season. With that in mind, New York might be interested in point guard Ricky Rubio, who could reportedly be on the block this summer, per Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical. Rubio would be a great fit for the Knicks, because he plays no defense but can provide a beating heart at point guard.
Rubio, 25, has been in the league for five seasons and has been consistent, averaging 10.1 points per game along with 8.3 assists. He has only played more than 60 games once, although he has stayed healthy this season to the tune of 48 appearances. The real question is whether this is the first time in human history that somebody would cry having to leave Minnesota for New York?
The Timberwolves are awful, but the Knicks are a raging dumpster fire. Rookie Kristaps Porzingis is a ray of shining fire retardant, but does that cover up the rancid stench from the rest of the franchise? James Doln has the potency of a 1,000-mile landfill and the team just fired a coach who allegedly was trying to sleep with half of the Tri-State area.
Good times.
