A look at the needs in free agency and the draft for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2016 NFL offseason

The Philadelphia Eagles are in an obvious period of transition after the firing of Chip Kelly and bringing in Doug Pederson as his replacement. After Kelly’s tinkering and famed system flamed out in a blaze of less-than-glory, the Eagles are left trying to pick up the pieces of their roster and get back to competing in a still shaky NFC East. Of course, that will mean approaching and acting near perfectly in the 2016 NFL offseason.

The Eagles have obvious needs and areas of concern entering the 2016 offseason. The primary area that needs to be addressed in Philly is their offensive line. Not only do they have decisions to make regarding linemen already in house, but they also have to try and recover from one of Kelly’s worst decisions in regards to cutting Evan Mathis prior to last season.

Moreover, the Eagles have major issues to address in regards to the quarterback position. Sam Bradford’s contract is up, Mark Sanchez isn’t a long-term solution, and no one really knows what the plan is in Philadelphia to address the issue. However, something had to be done and big decisions have to be made.

Throw in the fact that the Eagles could also use an influx in younger, more productive weapons at skill positions and Philadelphia has plenty left to do this offseason. Here’s how they should approach it in free agency, the draft, and everywhere else.
