High Salary SG

Brad Beal-Washington Wizards (6,800): Beal played 37 minutes against the Bucks a week ago which is the most he has played since returning from his most recent injury. He had 19 points and five assists on his way to 30.1 fantasy points in that contest and he now has at least 28 fantasy points and at least 18 points in each of his last five games. He is a pretty safe investment at this price since he should see heavy minutes again tonight after the extended layoff. The only downside to playing Beal tonight is that he is in a tough matchup against the Jazz who allow the fewest fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG.

Rodney Hood-Utah Jazz (6,300): Speaking of Utah’s SG, Rodney Hood has been emerging as a very solid option for the Jazz since they lost Alec Burks to injury.  Hood has scored at least 15 points in nine of his last ten games including six games over 22 points.  He usually gets solid rebounds and assists as well and has been able to reach 33 fantasy points in five of his last nine contests including three of his last four.  He can really fill it up when he’s on his game and the Wizards defense against opposing SG has been much more beatable then attacking this matchup in the opposite direction. In fact, the Wizards have allowed the third-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG over their last five games.  While Beal will be highly owned, I actually think Hood has the better matchup, so I’d take him over Beal for tonight’s game.
