NBA Trade Deadline 2016: Kirk Hinrich traded to Hawks
The last traded of the 2016 NBA Trade Deadline involved the Chicago Bulls trading Kirk Hinrich to the Atlanta Hawks.
The 2016 NBA Trade Deadline didn’t have much fireworks, but rather small moves as teams shuffled around pieces. Heading into the trade deadline, all eyes were on the Atlanta Hawks and whether or not they would move some of their big pieces.
Rather than making any drastic changes, the Hawks made a couple of small roster moves. The first move the Hawks made on the day was trading Shelvin Mack to the Utah Jazz. After helping Utah fill their point guard need, the Hawks went and got a veteran presence to add to their playoff run.
According to Brian Windhorst, the Atlanta Hawks have acquired Kirk Hinrich from the Chicago Bulls for a second-round pick.
There’s been a lot of discussion over recent weeks about the Hawks and what they need to focus on heading into the future. Instead of making the big move, it seems smart of the Hawks to shuffle their point guard depth around a bit and they acquire a great veteran presence in Hinrich.
They have the offseason to focus on their bigger moves, but for now they are toward the top of the Eastern Conference and should have playoffs on mind.
