San Antonio Spurs vs Los Angeles Clippers

After a week off from play, the San Antonio Spurs are ready to get back into action after the All-Star Break. Going into the break with a six-game win streak and a 45-8 overall record, the Spurs have proven to be the second-best team in the Western Conference — on the verge of being No. 1.

Kawhi Leonard has been the star of this red-hot team despite being one of its youngest players. Leonard is averaging 20.2 points and 6.7 rebounds to go along with about 1.8 steals per contest. He’s also one of the league’s best defenders. Combine him with LaMarcus Aldridge, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, and you have an NBA Finals squad.

You hear about the Spurs, the Warriors and the Thunder, but rarely do you ever hear about the success of the Los Angeles Clippers among Western Conference teams. The Clippers had won 7-of-9 games before the break and that’s without star forward Blake Griffin who has missed 23 games due to an injury. Still a dangerous team.

Griffin was leading the Clippers in scoring, 23.2 points per game, to go along with 8.7 rebounds per game before his injury — a big blow. However, Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan have led the way in his absence. Don’t forget about J.J. Redick who can add some offensive power.
