Jimmer Fredette will return to the NBA, as the Knicks are giving him a chance to shine
Jimmer Fredette’s strange journey throughout basketball might be getting the boost it needs. It was recently announced that the New York Knicks will call up the 26-year old from the Westchester Knicks. The Knicks signed Jimmer to a 10-day contract, giving him a chance to once again be involved in some NBA action.

The Knicks were able to acquire an open space in their roster after they declined to give another player a second 10-day contract. That player happened to be Giannis Antetokounmpo’s brother Thanasis. Jimmer recently played in the D-League All-Star Game, where he scored 35 points. For his efforts, Jimmer was awarded the MVP of the game. Jimmer has averaged about 22 points per game, trying to impress the Knicks (or any team for that matter) to call him up. It looks like the Knicks were paying attention to all of his hard work, hence the call.
The addition of Jimmer could be the shot in the arm the Knicks need. The Knicks begin post-All-Star break basketball tonight against the Nets. They entered the break with a 23-32 record, and are hoping to catch up with the rest of the Eastern Conference. They have Carmelo Anthony and KristapsPorzingis, along with a few supporting characters like Arron Afflalo, Derek Williams and Robin Lopez.
Jimmer’s career has been a long journey of up and down moments. From being traded, to being waved, Jimmer has been through it all. One can only hope he gets the right amount of playing time with the Knicks. This could be the start of his comeback tour in the NBA. Get ready New York, “Jimmermania” is coming to Madison Square Garden!
