A look at the Baltimore Ravens and their needs in free agency and the draft in the 2016 NFL offseason
The Baltimore Ravens felt like they were cursed in the 2015 NFL season. Though they were a team that had obvious problems coming into the year, things were never easy for them as injuries seemed to pile up by the truckload with each passing week. However, the Ravens now have the chance to get healthy in the 2016 NFL offseason and will look to do that while also addressing needs and trying to improve as a whole.
That the Ravens finished the 2015 regular season with a 5-11 record is actually somewhat of an accomplishment. Considering that the offense saw both Steve Smith Sr. and Joe Flacco go down with major injuries and that the defense had to spend most of the year with Terrell Suggs out of action, this team was absolutely destined for failure this past season.
However, Baltimore is now a team in a great position as they have a ton of great talent in place and have the No. 6 in the 2016 NFL Draft to add to that talent pool. With that said, the Ravens are still a team with a number of glaring holes, a number of issues in terms of their roster and salary cap situation, and a team with essentially plenty to do this season.
As far as their biggest needs this offseason, the four primary areas of concern for the Ravens are their secondary, wide receiver, outside linebacker and offensive line. They’ll surely look to address those needs in the 2016 NFL offseason, but they might have to get a bit creative in order to do so.
Knowing what the Ravens’ situation is now, here’s a comprehensive look ahead at the 2016 offseason for Baltimore, where they can look to address needs, and what might ultimately happen for this team.
