Andrea Bargnani is no longer a member of the Brooklyn Nets following the team waiving him on Saturday.
In a move that literally should shock no one, the Brooklyn Nets announced on Saturday that they have indeed waived forward Andrea Bargnani after signing a two-tear deal with the team last summer.

Again, this is stunning in no way whatsoever. The 30-year-old had struggled once again this season with the Nets, averaging just 6.6 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. He’s rapidly declining as time goes on, and it just wasn’t worth it for the Nets to keep him around anymore.
Now to their credit, they did try to see if there were any takers on a deal before the trade deadline on Thursday, but no one was taking the bait on that one. They were willing to accept a second-round pick for his services, but not a team out there was willing to even give that up — and rightfully so, really.
With Bargnani now done in Brooklyn after a disappointing stint with the New York Knicks where he didn’t draw too many rave reviews from Phil Jackson, you have to wonder if anyone out there really wants to take him on at this point. That will be the most interesting part to come out of all this, seeing whether or not somebody is going to give him another chance.
