Watch any NBA player after a free throw, made or missed, and 99 percent of the time you will see two teammates come and high-five the shooter. What exactly the high-five is supposed to accomplish is unclear, but the gesture has become tradition and so everyone does it most of the time. On Saturday night Karl-Anthony Towns found himself at the free throw line and after his first shot went to get his high-five.
Except something unusual happened as Towns’ teammates left him hanging. But Towns is a relentless player so he made sure to go and get them.

The best part of this is the confusion from both Towns and Shabazz Muhammad. Muhammad especially seemed bewildered by the entire experience, especially since Towns was so demanding in getting his props. It isn’t quite the self high-five we have seen in the past from players like Andrew Bogut but sequence was another one of those fun random moments in an otherwise boring part of the game.
