In the aftermath of both the NBA All-Star Game and the NBA’s trade deadline, the league enters something of a down period in the next few weeks.

There will, of course, be plenty to discuss with regard to the teams that made deadline deals and how those new pieces are integrated in the coming days, but on the whole, much of the NBA will be sleepwalking until the playoffs, even when discussing the top teams in the association.

Here, though, our focus is on the worst of the worst, and the race for ping-pong balls never ceases.

Tanking isn’t fun for everyone, but for those with an appreciation of team building and the “strategy” that comes with losing games for draft position, it is an enthralling exercise. As always, we will reveal our “top” five rankings this week, and it’s time to do just that.
