No. 17 Purdue Boilermakers vs No. 22 Indiana Hoosiers
Despite putting together a 9-5 record in conference play and sitting 2.0 games back of first place, the Purdue Boilermakers have a serious shot to share the Big Ten regular season title with a win over Indiana on Saturday. Four of Purdue’s five conference losses this season have been on the road and Assembly Hall is not an easy place to play, by any means.

The Boilermakers are led by a trio of solid big men that creates matchup problems for the rest of the conference. A.J. Hammons leads the way with 14.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game while Isaac Haas is putting up 10.0 points and 4.1 rebounds. Talented freshman Caleb Swanigan is the third big man who causes trouble, scoring 9.7 points and grabbing 8.5 boards per game.
Indiana is currently in first place in the Big Ten and just about every team is gunning for the Hoosiers right now. With a 21-6 overall record and 11-3 mark in conference play, the Hoosiers have three games left against ranked opponents and it might be a bumpy finish to the regular season. Tom Crean needs to have his young team ready for March.
Yogi Ferrell is clearly the team’s leader, averaging a team-high 16.6 points and 5.6 assists per game while shooting 42 percent from three-point range. James Blackmon Jr. has been injured for months, missing 14 games already. He’s been replaced effectively by Troy Williams and Thomas Bryant who both average over 10 points per game.
