With Mario Balotelli could be on the move to China
Mario Balotelli has done well to stay out of the headlines since he joined Milan on loan at the beginning of the season, but his performance on the pitch has been less than stellar. He spent a large part of the campaign on the sidelines injured, and since returning he hasn’t exactly lit up the San Siro.
The 25-year-old drew the wrath of Milan head coach, Sinisa Mihajlovic, recently after failing to track back when asked to. As a result of his struggles in Italy, Milan are planning to send the striker back to Liverpool after his loan spell and the English club will have to figure out what is next for the Italian international.
According to a report from ESPN FC, the Reds are thinking of shipping Balotelli to China in a big-money move. The report suggests that Liverpool’s chief commercial officer, Billy Hogan, visited Asia this past week to work out a sponsorship deal for the newly-designed Main Stand at Anfield, but that isn’t all that is being discussed.
Despite his recent woes, Balotelli commands a hefty salary that very few teams are willing to pay at this point. A move to China would allow Super Mario to continue to earn an absurd amount of money, while ensuring Liverpool also cash-in at the same time.
In recent weeks, we’ve seen the likes of Jackson Martinez, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Alex Teixeira, Ramires, and Gervinho, decide to ply their trade in the Far East.
