Results and highlights from the match between R-Truth and Curtis Axel at WWE Fastlane 2016

R-Truth and Curtis Axel weren’t on the card for WWE Fastlane 2016 coming into the show, but as Axel and the Social Outcasts came out to the ring, Truth then came out to set up the contest.

The segment started with the Social Outcasts first walking out to the ring and cutting one of their slapstick promos and then having Axel get primed for his match by saying that, if he were a car, he’d be a tank. That’s when Truth’s music hit.

Truth and Axel started off the match jostling for control, but it wasn’t going for long before Axel’s cohorts started getting involved, tripping up Truth and sending him down to the mat. That, of course, led to the Social Outcasts celebrating themselves with a lap around the ring:

Goldust then came down to try and help even the odds, but he ultimately got in R-Truth’s way as he tried to help him get the upper hand on Axel. This allowed the “tank” of the Social Outcasts to get Truth on his back and down for the three-count.

After the match, Goldust was apologetic as his efforts to help out the man who he wants to be in a tag team with failed. However, Truth wasn’t having any of it:

A strange segment and match ended with a sad Goldust left standing alone in the ring after Truth rejected the notion of a “Golden Truth” tag team once again.
