While Cena and other celebrities love being at the biggest NASCAR race of the year, most of them have a tighter relationship with certain drivers. Cena will be rooting for his buddy Carl Edwards to win the 2016 Daytona 500.
It takes a special person to drive the pace car to start the Great American Race. There’s a lot of pressure to not go above the posted pace speed or do anything silly as millions of people tune in to watch. Cena is used to the pressure and stepping up at the biggest points in his WWE career and he will be able to do the same on Sunday.
After he drives the pace car and the first lap of the Daytona 500 gets underway, Cena will be able to sit back and enjoy the 500-mile race that lasts for the better part of the afternoon. If his buddy Edwards does win, he should be included in the celebration party and all the expensive meal that will follow.
