Frank Kaminsky challenges Kristaps Porzingis to a danceoff
By John Buhler
Frank Kaminsky of the Charlotte Hornets respects fellow NBA rookie Kristaps Porzingis’ dance moves and challenges the New York Knicks rookie to a dance off.
On Friday, Sports Illustrated’s Kenny Ducey released a few clips of New York Knicks rookie power forward Kristaps Porzingis showing off his dance moves while playing over in Europe. These slick moves of Porzingis’ have caught the attention of fellow NBA rookie big Frank Kaminsky of the Charlotte Hornets who knows how to work it on the dance floor.
Kaminsky through Twitter challenged Porzingis to an impending dance off. Will Porzingis accept the challenge?
Porizingis’ showmanship on the dance floor is like that of a leader singer in a 1990’s boy band. He and a pair of his former teammates on the other side of the pond do their very best in trying to recreate A Night at the Roxbury to Haddaway’s “What is Love?” The bigger question is if Porzingis is the Will Ferrell, the Jim Carrey, or the Chris Kattan of the trio?
On the other hand, Kaminsky is more inclined to Shake It Off to Taylor Swift, teach Shanghai How to Dougie, or moonwalk off the SportsNation TV set as a superstar solo artist.
The interesting part in all of this potential Porzingis/Kaminsky big man dance off hoopla is that there is still one more scheduled meeting between the Knicks and Hornets this season.
Charlotte will travel to Madison Square Garden on April 6th, so if Porzingis’ Knicks teammate Robin Lopez can routinely combat mascots in the pre-game warm ups, why couldn’t a Porzingis/Kaminsky be a part of that game’s festivities? Besides the game itself, what’s more entertaining than seeing two NBA seven footers settle things on the MSG dance floor?
