Stephen Curry drained a three in front of the Hawks bench, so he let loose a little shimmy for them

The Golden State Warriors let a huge lead slip away from them in the third quarter against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night. In fact, they actually saw the Hawks go up by one heading into the fourth quarter. The Warriors, of course, weren’t going to stand for that and Stephen Curry had just the way to make sure of that, with a little bit of theatrics sprinkled on top.

With the Warriors trying to pull away late in the fourth quarter after getting a slight lead back, Curry got the ball in the corner and buried a three right in the face of Jeff Teague in front of the Atlanta bench. After watching it fall through the net, though, the reigning MVP turned around and gave the Hawks bench a little shimmy before trotting back to play defense:

And a better view of the shimmy:

You have to imagine that if this was 1983 or some time around then that Curry would not have made it the whole way back down the floor after pulling something like that, for better or worse.

Though the Warriors play an incredibly enjoyable brand of basketball that you have to love as fans, it’s not hard to imagine instances like this rubbing some oversensitive people the wrong way. While the game certainly needs a bit of flair every now and then, little things like this might lead to people turning on the Warriors and Stephen Curry before too long—no matter how great they are.
