LeSean McCoy was supposed to meet with a Philadelphia District Attorney about his recent alleged assault on two police officers, but the meeting has been cancelled.
Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy was supposed to meet with the Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams on Tuesday in regards to his recent alleged assault on two off-duty police officers, but the meeting has been cancelled according to Comcast Sportsnet Philadelphia. According to reporter John Gonzalez, the meeting was supposed to be at 4 p.m. ET, but was canceled because of the ” media circus” that resulted from the meeting being leaked ahead of time.
Gonzalez also said that McCoy’s camp was not pleased that the meeting with the DA had been leaked to the media, and was part of the reason for the cancellation.

There has yet to be an arrest or charges pressed on McCoy for an alleged attack at the Recess Lounge in Old City where McCoy was reported to have attacked two off-duty Philly police officers. Some have wondered why it is taking so long for charges to be pressed, but John McNesby, who is the Fraternal Order of Police President for the Philadelphia Police told CSN that he believes even the potential meeting between McCoy and the DA is “special treatment.”
McCoy is a former Philadelphia Eagles player that was traded last year, but obviously still frequents the Philadelphia area. McCoy was born and raised not too far from Philly. The Recess Lounge is the same club where Philadelphia 76ers rookie center Jahlil Okafor also reportedly had a loaded gun pointed at him after an altercation in October.
It has not been reported whether or not the meeting is being rescheduled for another time, but if it is, McCoy and the DA’s office will likely try to do a better job of keeping it a secret.
