Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard threw up a ridiculous three-quarter court heave that didn’t count and made it.

Some of the best shots in basketball don’t even count on occasion. Still, those ridiculous shots made after the whistle shouldn’t just be forgotten and float away. They should be given the proper recognition that they deserve and Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard had one of those shots on Tuesday night, against the Brooklyn Nets.

As Lillard was trying to avoid the intentional foul late in the game, he threw up a deep heave hoping to get three shots from the ref. He didn’t, but what ensued was a three-quarter heave banking in off the glass.

It’s hard to get mad at the refs because they rarely call it and Lillard clearly let it go way after the foul, but still it would have been cool if this shot was counted just for cool shots sake. The good news is that the Trail Blazers won the game and Lillard can be happy with the win.

His three-quarter court heave might have been cool because it happened during a game, but it’s not as cool as Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic making it backwards.
