Kyrie Irving reportedly did not have great night’s sleep at the haunted Hilton hotel in Oklahoma City due to bed bugs, so Hilton apologized to Irving.

Cleveland Cavaliers starting point guard Kyrie Irving reportedly missed Sunday’s road game against the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Chesapeake Energy Center by supposedly contracting flu-like symptoms from the bed bugs in his room at the haunted Skirvin Hilton Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City.

The oldest hotel in downtown Oklahoma City was once abandoned and then renovated into a Hilton Hotel in 2007. Since it is the nicest hotel in downtown Oklahoma City, visiting teams often find themselves dealing with eerie circumstances when staying at the Skirvin like hearing scratches on doors to bathtubs filling up on their own to now bed bugs that are staring down Irving while he sleeps before a Cavaliers-Thunder game.

Being that Hilton is a top-flight hospitality brand all around the world, the hotel conglomerate said in a statement Tuesday about Irving’s bed bug catastrophe last weekend, “The comfort of our guests is a top priority and we are very sorry to hear about Mr. Irving’s stay. Since bed bugs can be easily transmitted anywhere and are often lodged in luggage or on clothing, our hotel maintains high levels of vigilance and we perform regular inspections.”

Sunday’s game versus the Thunder was the only trip the Cavaliers were going to make to the Sooner State this regular season. For all Irving’s fans in OKC that wanted to see the fantastic point ball handler for the Cavaliers this year, they’ll have to wait until next season or hope that their Thunder can top the Golden State Warriors and make it to the NBA Finals to play Cleveland for the 2015-16 NBA championship.

With all the things that have kept Irving out of games over the years due to injuries, supposedly contracting flu-like symptoms for bed bugs at a reportedly haunted hotel in downtown Oklahoma City is certainly the strangest. Or maybe he didn’t want to face off with Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook? We’ll never know.
