Jose Mourinho unsure of Manchester United job

Jose Mourinho “does not know” whether he will replace Louis Van Gaal as manager of Manchester United next season.

It has been a very strange season for Jose Mourinho. Coming off one of the most dominant title victories in Premier League history, Mourinho had plans to assemble a squad at Chelsea that would be capable of challenging for years to come. However, things did not go to plan. Chelsea were utterly terrible and Mourinho eventually sacked. Ever since that day, much speculation has focused upon him replacing the struggling Louis Van Gaal at Manchester United. Well now, Mourinho has spoken out on the topic for the first time, saying that he is unsure whether he will become Manchester United’s next manager.

It is common knowledge that Mourinho has longed revered the role at Old Trafford and he has spoken of his respect for the club and desire to manage them. However, he may not yet get his chance to lead one of the biggest clubs in the world. The Portuguese has had the chance to manage some of the biggest clubs in the world including Real Madrid and Inter Milan, however, if he were to indeed replace Van Gaal, it would surely be the biggest job of his career.

Mourinho has always loved English football and held it in higher regard than its Spanish or Italian counterparts. To manage the biggest club in English football, while still under the shadow of Sir Alex Ferguson, is clearly an opportunity that Mourinho is desperate for. He, like many though, is still in the dark about his management future, stating:

"“That’s the one million dollar question. Nobody knows and I am the first one not to know. I read so many different things. Starting next season with a new club and project is probably the best for me.”"

It remains to be seen whether Mourinho will get his wish. It would, nonetheless, be brilliant to watch, as Mourinho always is.
