J.R. Smith hammers down dunk after steal (Video)

J.R. Smith will make sure to embarrass you after stealing the ball.

When the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired J.R. Smith last season, he was the filler in the acquisition of Iman Shumpert. But after a year with the team — and plenty of ups and downs — the Cavaliers are growing more and more fortunate to have J.R. Smith on the team.

He’s fit excellently as a key piece of the roster, as the team isn’t the same without him. That’s not to say they’re not a championship caliber team, but J.R. no doubt makes Cleveland a better team. He take an insane amount of jump shots, but when he turns it up, it’s a thing of beauty.

While it wasn’t a long jumper, like we’re accustomed to seeing J.R. attempt, it was still a pretty slick play.

The Cavaliers are the best team in the East — that much is certain. They will be underdogs in the postseason thanks to the Warriors and Spurs being slightly better, but they’re easily the third best team in basketball right now.

J.R. Smith might not carry the team on his back, but this play is yet another example of how when the Cavaliers play as a team they can truly come together as one of the most special units in the league.
