These are the five teams that should sign Derrick Rose when he becomes a free agent in 2017.

While all eyes will be on this year’s free agency class, some teams that might not see themselves as players for this year’s top free agents, could begin to position themselves to maintain flexibility for the 2017 free agency period.

One of those players that will be interesting to watch next summer is Derrick Rose. Heading into next season, Derrick Rose will be in a contract season with the Chicago Bulls and if he can stay healthy and put together a big season, then he might earn himself a big contract in free agency from a star-hungry team.

While the Bulls could re-sign Rose, they might be reluctant too with his injury history and the fact that he’s not getting any younger. The 2016-2017 season could be the very last time that the world sees Rose in a Bulls uniform.

When he does hit the open market, teams are going to be very cautious about handing him out big money. However, there’s always the one team that will be willing to pay to add a star player to their roster, even if he’s not quite at the same level that he once was.

While there’s still a free agency period to get through this season and another season of basketball next year, these five teams should make a run at Rose in 2017.
