San Antonio Spurs vs Sacramento Kings

One team that probably has the best odds to take home the NBA title this season outside of the Golden State Warriors has to be the San Antonio Spurs. They’ve won eight of nine games and have a 47-9 overall record this season. The Spurs’ defense needs to lock down, though, allowing over 100 points in three straight.

Kawhi Leonard is the clear top dog for the Spurs, leading the team with 20.2 points to go along with 6.7 rebounds and 1.8 steals per contest. LaMarcus Aldridge is second on the team in scoring with 16.9 points and leads the Spurs with 8.3 rebounds per game. Tony Parker, Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili are still effective.

The Sacramento Kings are in quite the opposite situation as San Antonio, posting just a 23-31 record and sitting in 10th place, 4.0 games out of playoff contention. George Karl has been trying to avoid hot seat talk for the entire season, but his job is in serious jeopardy if he doesn’t get this team turned around.

DeMarcus Cousins continues to be one of the best big men in the league, if not the best, averaging 27.0 points and 11.3 rebounds to go along with 1.4 blocks per contest. Rudy Gay is averaging 18.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per game while Darren Collison and Rajon Rondo are quite the dangerous point guard duo.
