The Indianapolis Colts can begin to focus solely on free agency and the NFL Draft
With the offseason officially here it’s time for the Indianapolis Colts to focus on free agency and the NFL Draft. 2015 didn’t go exactly as the franchise had planned – their star quarterback Andrew Luck suffered shoulder injuries for most of the season and managed to play just seven games, and a season that began with Super Bowl aspirations ended without a Super Bowl berth.
With Luck sidelined, the team stayed competitive in the AFC South behind 40-year old veteran backup Matt Hasselbeck. As the season wore on, Hasselbeck also began to deal with injuries and in the end the Colts finished 8-8 and one game out of first place in the AFC South.
Now the offseason approaches and the Colts have some work to do if head coach Chuck Pagano and general manager Ryan Grigson don’t want their job security to be questioned again like it was to end this past season.
There will be holes to fill and decisions to make regarding expiring contracts and of course whether or not to hang on to veteran players who may not have necessarily played up to their contract.
With all that in mind we begin to look at the upcoming offseason for the Colts as they look to build a winner around one of the best young quarterbacks in the game.
