The Oklahoma City Thunder’s star small forward Kevin Durant will hit free agency this summer and these are five teams that he should consider signing with.

Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder is one of the NBA’s biggest names to hit free agency this summer. Along with LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Al Horford of the Atlanta Hawks, Durant is one of the few franchise altering players that will be signing a new deal in the Association this summer.

While many speculate that he would re-up with the Thunder on a one-year deal so that he will again hit free agency in 2017 when both the NBA Salary Cap explodes and teammate point guard Russell Westbrook would be up for a new contract, Durant could very well leave behind the only professional organization he’s played for in the Thunder/former Seattle SuperSonics.

Durant is a former MVP, a perennial All-NBA first teamer at small forward, and one of the very few players in the NBA that is undoubtedly worth a maximum contract in any NBA market. While some general managers may still have concerns over the foot injuries he had in 2014-15, Durant has re-emerged as one of the 10 best players in the NBA this season.

While it might make sense for him to stay for one more year with the Thunder just to be sure about leaving the Sooner State in free agency in two summers for good, here are five teams that Durant should consider when he hits free agency this summer as one of the NBA’s most prized free agents in 2016.
