1. Houston Texans

If there’s a team that’s in dire need of a quarterback, it’s the Houston Texans. Somehow, the Texans were able to make the playoffs this past season, even with Brian Hoyer at quarterback. In the playoffs, Hoyer had one of the worst playoff performances ever and it was abundantly clear that the Texans were going to need a quarterback if they are going to keep remaining competitive.

Bill O’Brien has a pretty good track record in college and the pros in terms of getting the most he can out of his quarterbacks. Everyone knows that the Texans are going to address the quarterback spot. Whether it’s through free agency, the draft or trade, they’re going to address it.

Based on the team making the playoffs, they’re likely out of the running for one of the top quarterbacks with the team picking No. 22 this year. The free agency crop has some interesting names, but the Texans are better off staying away from there, as those are likely only stop-gap options.

That puts them in a perfect position to take a flyer on a guy like Colin Kaepernick in a trade. O’Brien does a great job coaching up his quarterbacks and if he can get Kaepernick to return to his old form, the Texans suddenly have a great team in an easily winnable division.

This is a move the Texans should strongly consider.
