The Cubs surprised their players by secretly re-signing Dexter Fowler and bringing him onto the field at spring training.
The Chicago Cubs announced that Dexter Fowler was re-signing on Twitter on Thursday. Fowler was linked to the Baltimore Orioles and a reported three-year deal, but he elected to re-sign with the Cubs as they try to break the curse in the Friendly Confines in 2016.

The cool part of the whole deal is that right after it was announced with that tweet, the Cubs had Fowler trot out onto the diamond in street clothes to meet his teammates, a surprise for the players who most likely had not heard the news yet.
