Dexter Fowler’s agent was none too happy with the way his client’s situation was handled.

Thursday morning we saw what might end up being one of the coolest moments of the Major League Baseball season all year, as free agent Dexter Fowler walked onto the field at Spring Training where the rest of his Chicago Cubs teammates were working out to personally tell them that he would be sticking around for at least another year. The outfielder agreed with the team on a one-year deal, which is a huge coup for a squad that’s in contention for their first World Series title since 1908.

But, for those of you that don’t know, this was most shocking in the sense that people expected to see Fowler on a Spring Training field soon, but not with the Cubs. No, rather, people were expecting to see Fowler on the field with the Baltimore Orioles, as just a few days ago it was reported that the two sides had come to a three-year agreement.

Confusing, right?

Well, slowly but surely we’re learning that maybe Fowler and the Orioles never had an agreement at all, and on Thursday his agent sent out a statement making sure that everyone knows that’s indeed the case here, as well as blasting Baltimore for the way they handled things.

This is a sticky situation here, but the simple fact of the matter is that not matter what did actually happen behind the scenes and on the bargaining table, Fowler will be out there to help the Cubs in 2016, not the Orioles.

Part of you kinda wants to see the Cubs and Orioles meet up in the World Series now.
