Grayson Allen does not seem interested at all in changing the way people perceive him on the court.
Every few years or so, a Duke Blue Devils basketball players comes along that most people just despise. A lot of folks hate the Duke program to begin with, and then sometimes there’s the ultimate villain leading them on the court.
Well, as we’ve seen throughout the season, Duke has a new villain in the eyes of many and his name is Grayson Allen.
To be honest, Allen’s gritty play on the court has actually gotten out of hand from time to time. In the win over Florida State on Thursday night at home, he let his emotions get the best of him again when he intentionally tripped Xavier Rathan-Mayes.
You only have to watch the video once to see that it was intentional. There was no accident there; Allen clearly stuck the foot out with the intention of bringing Rathan-Mayes to the ground, which is pretty dangerous.
Is Allen a good basketball player? Sure he is, we saw that last year when he helped lead Duke to the national championship. But slowly but surely, he’s also turning into one of the dirtier players in all of college basketball, which is not a good thing.
